Melt and Pour Soap
|
| Ingredients
1 pound vegetable glycerin soap
Ice cube trays or other molds—flexible is good!
Glitter, plastic toys, anything cool you want to put inside
Scent (if desired)
Optional: botanical or herbal additives like cinnamon, ginger, green tea, oatmeal…
|
1. Cube soap and melt it in a large Pyrex measuring cup in a saucepan of boiling water. Try not to stir it too much! Skim the foam off the top if any appears.
2. When it is fully melted, add scent or glitter, if you’re using it. (Try about 15-20 drops of scent to a pound of soap, or experiment!) If you are using herbals, stir them in now. Don’t overload the soap with extras or they will sink to the bottom of the mold.
3. Pour soap into molds. If you want to add trinkets, you can fill the mold half full, let it cool almost completely, and place your treasure on the first layer. Then pour the second half of the soap in & let it cool. Putting it in the refrigerator speeds the process up.
4. Gently ease the soaps out of the molds and wrap in plastic or Saran Wrap.
